I have over 25 years' experience of advising corporates and individuals on M&A activity and strategic business advice at all levels. The last 20 years have been spent working almost exclusively within the North East corporate marketplace and I have been fortunate to work with some of the region's best businesses, people and other advisors. My work and of that my team has been recognised, having been named Corporate North East Lawyer of the Year on 3 separate occasions with a number of other shortlisted nominations. I have worked on 5 of the Insider "Deals of the Year" in the North East region. Most importantly, I have built a network of connections across all professions and business types in the North East region – and for the last 5 years, I have had the opportunity to expand that network and connections with the help of Womble Bond Dickinson US – looking to create opportunities for US businesses to invest here in the North East and for the North East to exploit the marketplace and connections that we have in the USA. Working as long as I have in the North East has created a specialisation for me for working with and understanding the demands of the manufacturing sectors that we see here in the North East. I am enthusiastically promoting the opportunity for our North East manufacturing base and supply chain in one of the industries of the future, being the Offshore Wind sector – where I work closely with my firms' high level specialists in these areas.
