Fidessa Support Consultant
My role at ING included moving the support focus for the Global Fidessa trading application from Amsterdam to London. This entailed documenting the existing support procedures and enhancing them where possible. I have authored the new user onboarding process now being implemented by the Bank. I am employed to bolster the London Support team effort and as such deal with internal traders and external customers and vendors on a daily basis. Typical issues range from trader education to FIX message troubleshooting, broker connectivity and algo concerns. Additional work has included IT Risk reporting and evidencing, troubleshooting file delivery/feed issues, connectivity trouble shooting, DR testing and onboarding. I also worked on desk decommissioning ensuring no route to market was left available for the removed traders and remaining flow was directed to the correct desks for action. Market data was removed from these accounts to avoid additional charges. I enjoy good relationships with all the other teams I interface with allowing me to deliver change across departments quickly.
Mifid Ii Contractor
Employed to work on the MiFID II program I was responsible for ensuring all Order Record Keeping exchange requirements were met by the bank. I also looked at the proposed in house short / long code tool and advised on additional requirements that were later proved correct. With the work now nearing completion I am looking for a new role.
Contractor. Fidessa Implementation Specialist
I was employed to work on the implementation and test the installation of a new Fidessa XTP back end order routing system coving equity exchanges such as LSE, Xetra Frantfurt and Vienna, MTA, NasdaqOMX equities and BATS as well as derivative exchanges like Eurex, CME , Euronext, IDEM and ICE (all exchanges). Equity quoting, anonymous quoting and dark pool orders were all covered and I worked with clients to ensure their UAT was conducted successfully before they migrated to the new platform. My previous experiences with Fidessa enabled me to highlight potential risks before they became issues and mitigate them. My test scripts were designed to test the installed infrastructure while remaining aligned with the ABN requirements. Fix Technician was used to speed up the testing process. My knowledge of trading systems and exchange connectivity have been useful in designing solutions to discovered issues and have brought the project to the go live point on time. Part of the role has been to ensure the solution provides all the functionality offered by the exchanges or, where this is not possible, is acceptable by the business. As such, facing off to senior business management has been part of the remit.
European Head Of Futures Connectivity
Robert started working at Nomura as contractor, employed to manage the global roll out of a new futures trading platform and its integration into the existing support structure. In March of 2014, the roll in Futures Connectivity became available and was offered to him. Futures And Options Subject Matter Expert/Engagement Manager
Robert joined Headstrong as a futures and options SME ande quickly went to work with a customer as they implemented a post trade risk system for futrues and equities. This required Robert to quickly learn about the software functionality and business requirements and design solutions where these did not match. For the same customer he also conducted a trading system review, including views on the big build or buy question. On later projects Robert again demonstrated his ability to learn systems and business processes quickly including working as a BA on an inhouse developed equity clearing and settlement system where the requirement was to commersialise the product, a similar review and recommendation for a large Spanish bank which required Robert to live abroad for a period of time.Robert was later promoted to Engagement Manger where he used his skills to manage a challenging customer with a diverse protfolio of projects. These projects were staffed by on and off site team members with the majority off shore. Management of staffing levels, ensuring projects remained on track in terms of both budget and time were part of his remit.
