About Robert Pollhammer
During my studies I had a strong focus on the automotive industry. My initial plan was to work for a company like BMW, Porsche or Mercedes. However, life had different plans and I ended up starting my professional career at TUI in Hannover. After a relatively long and intensive Trainee Program I worked as a Brand Manager for TUI Deutschland before changing over to the TUI Group Marketing Department. Those were exciting times because of the re-branding process - from TUI Schöne Ferien! to the famous TUI smile logo. I really enjoyed my time at TUI but had a strong urge to start my own business. I did that in December of 2002 and have been fully self-employed from March 2003. At the beginning my main project was the organisation of the Montane Yukon Arctic Ultra, an extreme race that I organise to this day. I also worked with company incentives and team trainings. Furthermore, I managed an international Adventure Racing Team, was Race Director for the Brazilian Jungle Marathon (twice) and put on several Adventure Races in the Alps.In 2005 I started Racelite.de, an online-shop that now is specialized in gear for trail runners. In December 2007 I also opened a stationary sports shop in Garmisch-Partenkirchen. I did close the shop again in August 2015 but kept the online part of the business.In May 2010 I started working for Montane Ltd. as a Sales Rep for Germany and Austria. In October 2015 Montane put me in charge of Marketing & Sales for the DACHI region. I did this work until July 2020.So, to sum it up, I do like a good challenge and do not mind working very hard to reach my goals. I enjoy both working on my own and as part of a team. I have got a very good knowledge base on anything concerning the outdoor and sports trade. Additionally, I am very experienced when it comes to extreme events in very challenging climates. It will be interesteing to see what the next 20 years will bring!

Racelite.de started out as an online shop for Adventure Racing and fans of ultra light gear for Trail Running, Trekking, Hiking, Mountainbiking and Mountaineering. From December 2007 to August 2015 I also ran a stationary store - from about 2010 to 2015 the store had 250 m² sales floor and was situated at the Rathausplatz in Garmisch-Partenkirchen.August 2015 I closed the store and went back to focusing on online only and specialising in the areas I have the most expertise in: Trail Running and expeditions and races in cold environments. The strenghts of Racelite.de are competence, credibility, fast service, a very direct contact to our customers and a range of products that is very unique in Germany.

When I started my company the focus was on organising adventure and sports trips and the Montane Yukon Arctic Ultra (www.arcticultra.de) in the Canadian Yukon Territory. This race, billed at the world's toughest and coldest ultra, I organise to this day. In addition, I also organised or helped organising the following sports events:Adventure Trophy Series with several Adventure Races in the German and Austrian Alps2x Race Director for the Jungle Marathon (200 km Ultra) in the Brazilian Amazon region2x Trail Days - Test days for Trail Running Fans in Garmisch-Partenkirchen Also, I was able to gain experience working with company incentives and team trainings - from planning to execution - both as guide and co-ordinator. In March 2022 I started the Montane Lapland Arctic Ultra, a winter ultra that takes place in the Swedish province of Norbotten and crosses the Polar Circle four times.
