Project Managing the technical delivery of the Digital Transformation Programme. Delivered new Council website using Goss iCM and digital platform based on Dynamics CRM with integrations to 3rd parties. Website and platform went live in Sept 2020.

Managing a key project within P & O's IT Transformation Programme to implement a Data Lake and BI, MI capability to replace reporting from a multitude of Legacy systems. Joined the project in it's early stages to take it through Supplier selection, Design, Development and Implementation.

Design and Operations Project Manager within the Census Transformation Programme. Managing Agile teams delivering design deliverables, preparing for operational readiness and planning test assurance.

Project Manager for the CAA working alongside colleagues and suppliers to deliver projects from concept through to implementation. One project is undertaking a major Requirements exercise to take account of a European regulation change; On another project I have obtained funding approval and started the upgrade of a service management application to SaaS; A third project had to be resurrected and re-energised and is now in UAT. All projects involve close working with technical consultants and multiple suppliers and the effective management of business stakeholders.

Working within the Change Directorate and managing a project to transition a business critical new financial application into live service. I was engaged to lead the business implementation of the Finance system, managing the transition from the development and test teams into live service. My remit was to ensure the new system met requirements and the operational processes were effective for live use, involving extensive working with the training department and multiple business stakeholders.

Project Manager / Data Warehouse Environment and Test ManagerI was further engaged to provide management of environments covering system test, UAT, integration test, data catchup, performance test, operational acceptance test and production. • Responsible for planning, preparation / execution of testing whilst managing releases, change control, service requests, problem resolution forums and execution of corrective actions. • Managed liaison with multiple suppliers to ensure programme delivery, supporting rapid change and working closely with suppliers to satisfy test team requirements. Technical Implementation ManagerMy engagement was extended to manage Data Warehouse implementations and 3rd party suppliers for development and hosting. • Overcame supplier issues to establish excellent working relationships, resulting in delivery as planned for 4 data warehouse implementations providing thousands of Caseworkers with up to date information and resulting in a huge increase in business productivity.• Delivered within the SIAM framework and managed service transition into live service.Deputy Integration ManagerI was initially engaged as Project Manager within the management team of a large programme responsible for integration, testing, software deployment and software licensing.• Identified major issue in test programme structure and resolved through management of test phase using internal and consultant testers• Drove software deployment project forward from initial inception, gaining board level funding approval and working with multiple suppliers in an Agile project• Delivered series of successful incremental deliveries with 75% reduction in deployment time• Led team to review software licensing which identified significant shortfalls in the existing processes.

I was appointed as Project Manager to create a new technology team with responsibility for delivering projects across BA to support business and IT change. Further built team to develop technical capability and additional server based technical skills.• Managed major project to migrate ba.com into content management system, resulting in a vastly improved web site with multi-language capability. • Managed delivery of online check-in application• Led testing of applications for a major £multi-million programme to implement Enterprise Service Bus architecture for booking system covering 200 applications• Managed a group of application support teams consisting of 90 staff and £multi-million budget delivering support for operationally critical applications including extensive offshore supplier management and major technology providers

Telewest engaged me to manage the introduction of new Internet and Intranet products and services for their major accounts and general business customers.

I took up my full board level position in April 1995 to coincide with responsibilities to set up a new software development and Internet services business. Based on a combination of commercial software and Internet activity supported by European research projects, the business grew steadily to approx. 25 staff.

After graduating I Worked for Logica developing software for the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong. I was involved in the hardware and software design of the distribution system and terminals.

Merchant NavyFollowing school, I worked as a Radio Officer in the Merchant Navy where I had to manage the Ships' Radio Station, with responsibility for all long distance ship to shore communications and the maintenance and repair of marine electronic equipment, (Radar, Transmitters, Gas-detectors, Auto-Pilots, etc.
