After almost 32 years with TxDOT, I have officially retired on August 31, 2018. My last position working in the Statewide Planning Branch has been the most rewarding experience to date. Leading our branches efforts on several fronts including advancing the departments efforts in Performance Metrics by defining and documenting the departments performance goals as well as establishing a solid foundation of new tools to help the department advance these efforts. Successfully leading my teams efforts in the training and use of the new Performance Metrics: Data Integration System (PM-DIS) and Decision Lens tools to over 300 TxDOT, Metropolitan Planning Organizations (MPOs) and other transportation industry professionals.

After 9 years of working on TxDOT's Unified Transportation Program, I decided it was time for change. In July 2017, I accepted a position with the Statewide Planning Group led by non-other than the incomparable Michelle Conkle, a longtime colleague and dear friend. For the last 6 months I have been working with several consultants from Decision Lens, Alliance Transportation Group and Highstreet Consulting on the implementation and training of over 100 planning professionals across the state. Prior to my new position I worked with a small group of planning professionals on the development of the state's Unified Transportation Program (UTP). The UTP is a comprehensive 10 year programming plan of the state's transportation planning, development, and construction projects. As the departments senior UTP planner I am responsible for many of the daily functions which includes providing support and guidance to 25 district offices, numerous divisions, and our executive administration on planning and funding of transportation projects. The annual development of the UTP includes the project selection and distribution of over $33 billion of funding covering a ten year period.
