In one of the highest volume restaurants in the casino, I was a cook 2 on the first shift. Responsible for cooking on all stations including flat top, expeditor, broiler/grill, eggs, pantry, and prep.

At first I began as a footwear associate with Dick's Sporting Goods. Having never worked with footwear before I began to educate myself on my down time at home and after only six months I had established a small clientele base and gotten noticed for my technical shoe knowledge and ability to learn quickly and was promoted to running specialist. My responsibilities include remaining up-to-date on new technologies, keeping in contact with vendor reps, communicating new technologies to other footwear associates, receiving freight shipments twice a week, keeping the sales floor accurate and clean as well as the back stockroom organized. The most important part of my job is by far being able to effectively communicate my knowledge of the different running brands and technologies with potential, current, and old customers looking to begin or continue running or fix a problem or pain they experience now. I constantly have customers come in with referrals from other customers that have very specific questions that they say their podiatrist couldn't figure out and we try to diagnose and correct the problem. It is by far the most fun part of my job. I love getting new customers that say "my friend was just in here a few weeks ago and said you helped him find shoes that helped his knees and he loved em, now its my turn..."​ or a repeat customer that won't go to any other shoe salesman because they don't want to have the "salesman" read from the box.As the running specialist I worked together with the footwear lead to implement new guidelines for checking the accuracy of our self-serve footwear deck as well as spoke with those in charge about working cooperatively to accurately map my sales floor. Now that the footwear lead has made the leap to management I am in charge of delegating most of my operational tasks to other associates in hopes to move up as well.

As the boating director for the Salvation Army's Camp Connri in Ashford, CT I was responsible for getting my Lifeguard, CPR/AED/First Aid, and Kayak Instructor's Certifications, creating a curriculum which effectively taught the safety of kayaking as well as allowed for time to enjoy kayaking for the campers in a 45 minute window, come up with an Emergency Response Plan with my assistant in case of an emergency, maintain the cleanliness and security of the kayaking dock and kayaks, and I was also second-in-command at the waterfront as a lifeguard.

After attending the camp as a child for 6 years, I became a camp counselor at the Summer Youth Program with The Salvation Army and became responsible for a group of children in a specific age group (usually the older kids for me) as well as one topic of education. It was one of my favorite jobs as most of the time I got to enjoy being with the children and trying to help them become young adults. I still enjoy seeing those campers to this day.
