Managed 32 federal adolescent pregnancy prevention grants totaling more than 20 million dollars. Specializing in ensuring programs are compliant with federal regulations. Use more than 15 years in working for non-profit organizations to assist grantees with program implementation strategies. Recently completed drafting a federal opportunity announcement.

Primary Responsibilities:  Develops outreach and program implementation plans for BreatheDC Tobacco Health Equity and Healthy Homes Grants.  Provides technical assistance to property management on the utilization of Smoke-Free Housing policies.Achievement(s): Developed a Smoke Free Housing Tool-Kit for multi-unit property owners. Conducted technical assistance workshops with 8 property owners and managers on the implementation of tool-kit Over 62 people have been successfully registered to attend smoking cessation classes. 90% of the registered participants are anticipated to complete the 4 week program.

Primary Responsibilities:  Oversaw the overall implementation of PPMW education and outreach programs. Member of PPMW Senior Management team oversaw the Community Education Outreach Division (CEOD). Managed PPMW $800,000 annual education and outreach budget; supervised 20 staff members; evaluated division programs. Achievement(s): Created a strategic plan using professional development, resource management strategies and community resources to align PPMW education and outreach programs to PPFA National Standards. As a result of the strategic plan PPMW education programs met the 17 characteristics of effective programs and improved knowledge gain of 10-20% among 15,000 plus participants in single and multi-session programs.

Primary Responsibilities:  Directed the city-wide implementation of the WTHA-DC (Way) project. Supervised the project Program Coordinator who provided technical assistance to school administers and teachers on the implementation of the WAY Curriculum Achievement(s): Developed and administered a recruitment plan that resulted in 12 DC Public and Charter schools through participating in a city-wide nutrition initiative.  Facilitated a training to greater than 200 elementary and middle school teachers on the Way Nutrition curriculum

Primary Responsibilities:  Prepared transition plans for 30 adolescents and their families that outlined resources and accomplishments to prepare youths to live independently by the age of 21.  Executed the daily operations of the Youth in Transition Program (YITP) that included the development of an aggressive outreach and marketing plan that expanded YITP visibility and linked clients to healthcare, educational and career resources. Achievement(s): • Facilitated monthly support group for clients and their families living with Epilepsy

Primary Responsibilities:  Oversaw a 12 session teen pregnancy prevention program that resulted in 700 adolescent boys delaying sexual activity and increasing their knowledge about unhealthy sexual practices annually.  Headed the Teen pregnancy prevention Project for CBM in three jurisdictions within the Washington DC Metropolitan Area, supervised more than 10 program facilitators. Documented program success yearly in CBM continuation application and during CBM National conferencesAchievement(s):• Program Participants reported more than 12% increase in self-esteem and more than 20% of participants delayed first sexual encounter as a result of participating in program

Primary Responsibilities:  Identified best practices techniques on the implementation of health education/youth development programs for Washington DC non-profit organizations through the development of a resource manual to increase positive health outcomes among DC youth. Gathered best practice techniques for implementation of health curriculums for public and private sector companies. Planned bureau wide initiatives such as health awareness days for National HIV/AIDS Awareness day, National Teen Pregnancy Prevention Day and getting students immunizedAchievement(s):• Presented on the District of Columbia Department of Health teen pregnancy programs at the American Public Health Conference in San Francisco in 2003.
