The President of a Cristo Rey School guides the overall direction of the school as set forth in the Mission Statement. Three qualities are required of this position: leadership, service and unity. Presidents are also responsible for the spiritual orientation of the school community. Management of budget, final approval for all academic, disciplinary, admission policies and hiring/firing fall under the purview of this office. The President also manages all communications and public relations matters. The President manages the implementation of all of the Mission Effectiveness Standards of the Cristo Rey Network.

Responsibilities included: (1) Directing all of the pastoral outreach of the community, including hospitals, home bound and those in rehabilitation care and those in extended care facilities;(2) Care for all of the liturgical rituals of the parish, including celebrations of the sacraments and the para-liturgical celebrations;(3) Overseeing the Faith Formation of all children of the parish from kindergarten through high school;(4) Overseeing the administration of the parish elementary school ministry;(5) Managing the upkeep and repair of all of the parish facilities, including all five buildings;(6) Finish the extensive repair work being completed on the church building;(7) Oversee the management of all parish funds;(8) Completed in a timely manner all of the reporting necessary to the Archdiocese of Newark;(9) Provide pastoral support to all parish organizations;(10) Began the process of creating a 5 year strategic plan for the parish;(11) Actively participate in the "linked parish" programs with Saint Mary's Parish in Rutherford;(12) Actively support the outreach ministries, especially the clothing and food supply sources.

During this nine (9) year assignment I cared for:(1) the establishment of a strong and active finance committee;(2) the expansion of the parish ministry team;(3) the development and revision of the faith formation program from grades kindergarten through high school;(4) the ministry of parochial education;(5) and served on the Diocesan Presbyteral Council;(6) and served on numerous committees with the Holy Name Province;(7) the faithful celebration of the sacraments and other para-liturgical celebrations;(8) retreat offerings for several outside-of-parish organizations;(9) created a vibrant, supportive and inclusive community;(10) and shared in the Interfaith Hospitality Network;(11) the growth of the Secular Franciscan Order;(12) and fostered the expansion of outreach ministries.
