Deployed to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. Assigned to US Forces – Afghanistan headquarters as part of the Joint Engineer directorate. Planned 58 Afghanistan National Army units including kandaks, engineer battalions, and airfield facilities.
Chief Of Operations, 452Nd Civil Engineer Squadron
Led a highly motivated group of Officers and Senior NCOs responsible for motivating and training one of the “Premier” Civil Engineer units in AFRC. Highly skilled and professional teams have received numerous citations and awards for deployments in support of Air Expeditionary Force backfill and Operation IRAQI FREEDOM. Assisted the unit Commander in training, organizing, and equipping the 174 assigned personnel to support aircraft operations at home base and deployed locations around the world. Directly supervised four Company Grade Officers and two Senior NCOs responsible for coordinating man-power needed to execute high priority maintenance, repair, and construction projects to support base operations for March Air Reserve Base; and all unit contingency operations training. Directed a 15-person Contingency Training Staff and 30-person EET which implements Prime Base Engineer Emergency Force (BEEF), Explosive Ordnance Disposal, firefighter, readiness, and weapons training, and command and control exercises required for combat field operations.

Responsible for a 250 person Civil Engineering Squadron providing engineering design, project programming, construction/contract oversight, emergency management, explosive ordnance disposal, and fire fighting capabilities for Hill Air Force Base, UT. Provided facility engineering, design services, construction management, project programming, master planning, utility planning, maintenance planning, facility assessment, emergency management planning and organization, housing management, worldwide explosive ordnance disposal, fire fighting, fire inspection services, and air operation range management services.
