Robert Savage retired as the Assistant Director of Safety and Mission Assurance at the NASA Wallops Flight Facility. He served as the senior SMA advisor and a point of contact for mission assurance as it relates to Wallops Flight Facility programs, projects and operations. In this role he ensured the proper level of mission assurance for WFF programs, projects and operations was defined, appropriately documented, and implemented. Provided support for institutional safety at WFF to facilitate ongoing communication and collaboration with the institutional safety organization at the Goddard Space Flight Center located in Greenbelt, Md. Served on investigation teams and anomaly review boards determining the root cause of various project anomalies or close calls. Senior member of the Wallops Executive Safety and Health Committee overseeing safety issues across the facility.
