I managed a diverse group of application engineers and support personnel supporting upwards of 3,000 professionals in the Houston Office and surrounding metropolitan area. Our major focus was the 3D platforms of PDS and PDMS and the associated databases. We also developed and supported a large number of ancillary programs to enhance the value of the data rich designs.

PDS Project Technologies lead on a new 450MM Plus Biotech facility to produce the drug Humira. Responsibilities includedproject setup, Over 30 PDS Piping Specification creation, Isometric Generation, Clash Detection, Smart Plant Review creation and general system troubleshooting. Setup PDS Smart Plant Review and network for PDS use on the job site and performed Smart PlantReview for Abbott and Skanska personnel. Co-created a 3D movie of the ongoing design that was presented to the new Abbott Vice-President in charge of Biotechnologies.

Manager of PDS operations for Procter & Gamble’s Alexandria Dry Laundry site and staff consultant for Procter & Gamble’s North American Fabric and Home Care Business Unit.• Designed and setup the coordination for the multi-site PDS Sulfur Burning Plant between five different contractors with exceptional results. This project is ongoing and has been declared one of the smoothest PDS projects to date at Procter & Gamble’s Laundry sites.• Headed up the design and modeling of more than 1,900 pipe supports for the Alexandria Sulfur Burning project.• Performed PDS Equipment modeling and Pipe modeling for Electrical contractor and Piping contractor for the Alexandria Sulfur Burning project. Part of this effort allowed High Voltage Electrical Duct to be fabricated off-site and installed without a single modification resulting in construction savings.Led the effort to place PDS support on-site at Procter & Gamble’s Kansas City facility to assist in the efficient construction and startup of Sulfur Burning project and Amines Capacity Increase. This effort resulted in estimated savings of over $100,000.• CVI created and produced a 30-minute PDS movie utilizing Design Review software and Adobe Premier for a Procter & Gamble presentation.

Piping Design System (PDS) Customer Support Engineerprimarily dealing with Project set-up issues (including archival/Retrieval), EDEN, as well as Piping and Equipment modeling.- Certified Instructor for EDEN- Pre-Certified Instructor for on-site project set-up.- Proficient in Windows NT4.0 and the required manipulations required to operate PDS in a Windows NT 4.0 Server and Client environment.- Provide superior customer support with a high weekly log closure rate.- Responsible for maintaining PDS software on NT and CLIX servers at World Headquarters and keeping Application Engineers around the world informed.- Single-handedly rebuilt over 30 workstations during a one-week period to the latest release of PDS and peripheral products.- Developed cost saving solution to maximize workstation memory needs for all PDS 3D support personnel and laboratory machines.

Design Engineer who served as the task engineer in the $3M upgrade of the Reactor Feedwater Turbine Front Standard involving digital governor, oil pump conversion and vibration monitoringequipment.- Designed innovative fault tolerant systems to maintain system reliability and improve plant capacity factor.- Designed portions of the $4M upgrade to replace Feedwater System with a fault tolerant Digital Foxboro I/A control system to improve plant reliability and transient response.- Managed a workforce of 13 engineers and 30 electricians during the implementation of large-scale nuclear plant control room modifications bringing the project in ahead of schedule and within budget.- Performed significant amounts of control logic troubleshooting to maintain an aggressive schedule and reduce overall outage costs.

As Senior Design Engineer in charge of designing new instrumentation loops to correct Human Engineering Deficiencies (HEDs) in the nuclear control room.- Corrected over 3,000 HEDs to reduce potential operator errors and improve plant safety and reliability.- Managed a staff of 4 engineers and 25 electricians during design implementation and completed the project under budget and ahead of schedule.- Selected to instruct senior Iowa Electric management personnel in a Boiling Water Reactor certification course and obtained 100 percent pass rate.- Put in place and managed a staff of 30 engineers to write and perform tests for all safety related plant logic during a three-week period. These tests allowed the plant to start-up from an extended outage and achieve increased capacity factor.

As a Senior Instructor, Robert managed and motivated a staff of 12 instructors teaching nuclear theory and plant operations to Iowa Electric operators in preparation for Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) exams.- Achieved record results by managing 100 percent pass rate for all operators who sat for their NRC exams.- Successfully applied for and received INPO accreditation for all Operator and Shift Technical Advisor training programs.

NRC Boiling Water Reactor (BWR). As an examiner, Robert was one of the select few who wrote and administered examinations to candidates for Reactor Operator and Senior Reactor Operator licenses at BWR facilities across the US.• Idaho National Engineering Laboratory. As Plant Operator (electronics), Robert was certified to the highest operator license responsible for the safe operation of the nuclear reactor during operation and nuclear plant loss of coolant experiments.

Electronics Technician First Class. Senior enlisted man in Reactor Controls division onboard a nuclear Fleet Ballistic Missile Submarine.- 100% pass rate for all Operation Reactor Safeguard Exams onboard submarine and aircraft carriers.- Supervised staff of 8 enlisted personnel to operate, train and administer reactor controls safety equipment.- Supervised staff of 10 enlisted personnel onboard new construction nuclear aircraft carrier.- Performed the initial criticality on Unit 1 as the Reactor Operator on the USS Dwight D. Eisenhower- Served two years as an instructor to Naval Officers, enlisted and civilian personnel in the safe and proper operation and maintenance of nuclear power plant.
