As a Management and Marketing Executive with a proven record of success in directing Product Management and leading high performing cross-functional teams, I have learned that there is a difference between being a Manager and being a Leader.In my career, I have been hired as or promoted to Manager on multiple occasions. The transition from Manager to Leader developed over time. There are many attributes that differentiate a Leader from a Manager but chief among them for me are understanding that everyone is valuable, encouraging autonomy and innovation, being flexible and open to new ideas, recognizing contributions, and being accountable for the team's performance when things do not go as hoped or as planned.
