For the past 19 years I have served as a Social Services/Parent Involvement Specialist for the Family Partnership unit, which has earned an exemplary rating in four consecutive reviews. Being that our agency is the Grantee, I am tasked with planning family engagement strategies that are systemic, integrated, and comprehensive across services and systems in line with the Head Start Performance Standards (HSPS) for Sacramento County Head Start programs in the areas of Early Childhood Education, Family and Community Partnerships, ERSEA, Sacramento County employment & training services, TANF requirements/procedures, and parenting/male involvement. My experience training includes presentations at state and national Head Start Fatherhood/staff training conferences with a key note presentation at the National Head Start Fatherhood Conference in Orlando Florida in 2005. While promoting Head Start in Sacramento County, I have conducted television, radio, and newspaper interviews as well as coordinating two Sacramento County Head Start Resource Fairs with over 100 participants at each event. I believe passionately in my role and responsibility to provide quality services to families/fathers, excellent program supports to delegates and partners to the Head Start grantee, and respectful and relevant training to Child Development professionals at all levels of service to Head Start.
