This is a remote position, where I conduct pre-employment background investigations for city and state agencies. These investigations vary from clerical positions, corrections officers, dispatchers, firefighters, deputies, and state troopers. The time spent on each case varies from 20-60 hours, consisting of interviewing applicants, neighbors, employers, and co-workers. I review criminal histories, credit histories, social media accounts, and conduct record checks with various police departments and previous employers. All of the information is compiled into a detailed report, which is sent to the employer and used to determine whether or not an applicant should be hired for a specific position.

I began my Carrer working as a correctional deputy at the West Valley Detention Center.After approximately six months, I was transferred to the Adelanto Detention Center,which was closer to home. I would book, search, restrain, fingerprint and escort inmates.I would supervise them in their daily activities. I would assist nursing staff inadministering medication, I would assist in feeding the inmates, searching their cells,administering first aid if needed after a violent encounter. I worked as a custody deputyuntil December of 2009, when I was transferred to patrol at the Adelanto station. Icompleted a field training program and worked as a solo patrol deputy after a few months.During the course of my patrol career. I conducted traffic enforcement, issued citations,investigated traffic collisions and other crimes. I made arrests and booked suspects intojail. I later testified in court proceedings. I assisted other deputies with apprehendingviolent suspects, I searched buildings, and collected evidence.I was motorcycle certified and conducted off road enforcement on dual sportmotorcycles. I assisted as a co-coordinator with our search and rescue and citizenvolunteers. I would handle citizen complaints when there was not a supervisor available.I would investigate crimes; conduct follow up and write search warrants for property and financial documents.After approximately five years of patrol, I was chosen to be a field training officer. In May2014, I completed a Field Training Officer class and began training new deputies as theycame out to patrol.During the course of my patrol career, I received several awards for identifying suspects through fingerprints, awards for locating and recovering stolen vehicles. I also received numerous written positive personnel reports from supervisors. In the ladder part of my patrol time, I received exceeds standards on my yearly evaluation and recommended for promotion to detective.

After attending several classes and the extended/modular sheriff’s academy, I was hired byRiverside County Sheriff’s Department in June of 2005. I worked as a deputy inside the Indio Jailfor a little over a year and performed all the correctional deputy tasks listed above.I later went on to work patrol at the Cabazon station and the City of Calimesa. I completed thefield training program with experienced deputies who taught me the basics of patrol. When Icompleted the training program, I worked as a solo patrol deputy.After gaining a little experience, I left Riverside County to be a Deputy with San BernardinoCounty and cut down my lengthy commute, as I always lived in the high desert area.

In this position I worked with one other parts person. We ran a big warehouse of auto andheavy equipment parts. I would assist approximately 10-15 mechanics on a daily basis inlocating the proper parts they needed to repair the fire apparatus they were working on.I would enter the invoices and track all costs associated with each piece of equipment. I wouldfrequently make large purchases and contact various suppliers for bids and submit theinformation for approval from the county. I would frequently drive to suppliers with variousparts to ensure I received the correct one. I would assist fire personnel with purchasing varioussupplies and parts when they came by or called me at the warehouse.This was sometimes a high stress job because the individual fire stations might be waiting ontheir fire engine or ambulance to be repaired, leaving that city without any coverage if anemergency call came in. The mechanic would stress out and transfer that stress to me.I left this position and my part time position at AutoZone, when I was hired as a Deputy Sheriffby Riverside County Sheriff’s Department

I ran a cash register, stocked shelves and assisted customers in locating the proper auto partsand items needed to repair their vehicle. Also, this was a low-level management position whereI supervised a team of four to ten people during my shift. I was in charge of opening/ andclosing the store and ensuring all the daily tasks were completed. I would prepare bankdeposits, access the safe, prepare cash registers, monitor sales and returns, and assist withemployee evaluations.Around 2003 I cut back to part time and opted for a job with better benefits with the SanBernardino County Fire Department. I would work part time occasionally on evenings andweekends until I left both jobs when I was hired by Riverside Sheriff’s Department in 2005.

Prior to beginning my Law Enforcement career, I was a volunteer with the sheriff'sdepartment. I would go out with a partner and conduct security patrols at least once aweek for 4-8 hours.We would patrol various high crime areas and report suspicious activity to deputies. Wewould assist with traffic collisions and direct traffic when needed. We would conductfoot patrols inside various stores and participate in various city functions as needed.I stopped volunteering when I was hired by Riverside County, as it was a conflict of interest.

I ran a cash register, stocked shelves and assisted customers in locating the proper autoparts and items needed to repair their vehicle. I also refinished brake rotors and drums,made high pressure hoses and cleaned fuel injectors with an ultrasonic cleaningmachine.I left this job because I was recruited to go back to AutoZone for a management positionwith better pay

This was my second job, I ran a cash register, stocked shelves and assisted customers inlocating the proper auto parts and items needed to repair their vehicle.I left for a better paying job at NAPA Autoparts.
