As a scrum product owner, I:• worked with switch hardware and firmware suppliers to create the HPE Synergy Virtual Connect (VC) Ethernet interconnect modules.• guided the development of the "grow" feature for HPE Synergy. Grow enables customers to configure a Synergy installation with as few as one frame (enclosure) and expand it to multiple frames up to the capacity limits (anywhere from 3 to 5 frames depending on downlink speeds) of Synergy Virtual Connect Ethernet interconnect modules (essentially embedded Ethernet switches), without adding Ethernet switches or interrupting existing, running workloads.• negotiated with the leadership of the team responsible for the Synergy Image Streamer OS deployment appliance to reconcile Image Streamer's requirements with the data center network protection requirements of Virtual Connect.• designed an automated process for updating the firmware of the Synergy Virtual Connect Ethernet interconnect module without interrupting network connectivity for the servers (up to 60) behind a redundant pair of VC modules.As a scrum product owner / implementer, I:• specified requirements for the original Virtual Connect Ethernet interconnect hardware for HP BladeSystem.• led the development of the switch firmware for original Virtual Connect.• designed a declarative management API for Virtual Connect switch firmware based on DMTF SMASH CLP.• implemented a specialized LLDP implementation that enabled multiple VC interconnects in one or more BladeSystem enclosures to automatically discover and realize a redundant fabric in a set of enclosures, enabling any server to use any uplink port in the fabric to connect to the data center network.• worked with vendors to design pioneering CNA and FCoE implementations.• implemented online, outage-free firmware update for VC Ethernet modules.• implemented a Linux device driver for a TCP offload NIC.• contributed to the design of the protocols documented in RFC5040 (RDMAP) and RFC5041 (DDP).
