They need someone willing to take a 5am phone call, drive through Wisconsin weather at its most challenging, show up with a smile, and teach everything from first grade letters to high school calculus with the odd recess duty thrown in for fun. Lead developer, database designer, and conversion expert for the State of Wisconsin Department of Health and Family Services (DHFS). Projects included further development and maintenance of the Facility Licensing and Certification Information System (FLCIS), a 40 megabyte client server program with intranet help and reporting developed in Powerbuilder to access a 1GB SQL Server database. Reusing object classes from FLCIS, created "ToDo" - a client server problem tracking and resolution program now used internally by BIS. Part of original development team and currently maintain the Integrated Background Information System (IBIS), a multi-tier server application that retrieves background check information from the various Oracle and SQL Server databases used by DHFS and the Department of Regulation and Licensing (DRL). Help train new developers and analysts for DHFS. Provided consulting to developers on how to better write SQL, take advantage of inheritance, and reuse object classes. Primary database developer on all DSS projects. Wrote additional tools to streamline development in NT batch command language, SQL, Powerbuilder, Visual Basic, and Visual C++.
