In this role I will rotate through 4 different teams, spending 6 months in each team. The 4 teams are: Clinical Computing, Electronics, Mechanical Engineering and Technical Services. Within these teams I will be involved with and leading projects, ensuring that backups of the clinical systems are taken, attending to faults and services on the cancer treatment machines, manufacturing parts in our machine workshop and involved in training of our new intakes.

Working in the Oncology and Surgery area at St. James Hospital in a department called RTS (Radiotherapy Technical Services). My job consists of assisting senior technicians on faults and services with the linear accelerators. While here I need to comply with the working policies and follow the working instructions. I have had some experience in our mechanical workshop in designing and working on various machines. I am having placements in clinical engineering to give me some experience of different sites of the hospital and different hospital equipment such as infusion pumps and syringe drivers.
