My former role at Bought By Many (BBM) put me at the forefront of insurance technology within a fast growing business. The culture of BBM is part of its defining proposition to reinvent insurance cover for the consumer focused on pet insurance. I joined the board in December 2016 and left in June 2020 following the successful completion of their C-series funding round. My background is in corporate finance, predominantly M&A in the insurance sector. I use the skills I learned there to develop the business of the insurance companies I now serve as a non-executive.

OVERALL RESPONSIBILITIES: Led a team of dedicated professionals to provide strategic advice to the Insurance Industry across the EMEA region. Formulated corporate strategy and marketing plans to originate and execute mergers and acquisitions, equity capital markets transactions (rights issues, IPO’s etc.) and assisted colleagues across the Corporate and Investment Bank (e.g. DCM, strategic derivatives, treasury and markets) to develop client solutions. Leveraged the firm’s global network across Asia, North and Latin America to provide integrated coverage for clients throughout all geographic segments. Additionally led coverage of Financial Sponsors in respect of opportunities in the insurance sector. Chaired global monthly meetings to formulate industry tactics and implement marketing initiatives. Frequently travelled to Europe, North America and emerging markets as well as bi-annually to Asia and Latin America for marketing and transactional meetings.CLIENT EXECUTIVE RESPONSIBILITIES: Acted as the client executive with overall responsibility for managing the firm’s European insurance and reinsurance relationships. Have strong relationships with clients as a result of direct and frequent contact with senior management and board members, including CEO’s, CFO’s and Heads of Strategy. Additionally have extensive board level contacts in Asia and North America. Regularly attended client off sites and planning days, in a speaking capacity, and have written and contributed directly to their business plans, including those of SCOR, Swiss Re, China Re and IRB (Brasil). In addition, assisted colleagues in banking sector coverage to provide strategic review of bank or government owned insurance companies.
