Primary scope of business is road and bridge construction and rehabilitation. OHL-Texas is a very young company with a fleet size of approximately $3M+, 70+ pieces of total equipment consisting of lifting and dirt equipment, concrete paving, and other small ancillary equipment. Majority of equipment is rental units as the fleet size is being grown to the proper size and fit for the company. Annual equipment budget has not been established, however is approximately $3.3M. Direct/Indirectly responsible for management of repair cycles, costs, fleet sizing and utilization practices. Assisted with the implementation of safety and preventive maintenance inspection policies and procedures to eliminate equipment downtime and associated costs. Selected Accomplishments: Established single point of contact with vendors for the strict control of rental equipment procurement, increasing utilization practices, rental cost reductions, and timely return of equipment. Reduced Project Equipment Costs by over $560K across 4 individual project locations, through reduction in rental costs and fleet size, increased utilization practices and repair cost reductions.Planning and implementation of the installation and set-up of GPS telematics on all company equipment in the North Texas Region. GPS installations were accomplished across the region in a 3 phase effort, which took only 5 days to complete. GPS is now being used to track equipment locations, meter readings, preventive maintenance schedules and security.

Selected Accomplishments: Reduced Equipment Department losses by over $800K in first year, (10 months) through reduction in fleet size, increased utilization practices, repair cost reductions, and department overhead costs. Established repair cycle initiatives and preventive maintenance measures to further decrease operational equipment costs by an annual rate of $260K. Reorganized work force structure to enhance and stabilize project and equipment interaction and cooperation, resulting in timely and accurate reporting of machine issues, further reducing repair costs.

Rheem Manufacturing, a metal fabrication plant for commercial and residential water heaters. Performed duties as a “Mechanic A”, (Electrician/PLC Technician) performed various electrical, PLC and mechanical repairs on all plant fabrication machinery, bulk chemical storage, process distribution, conveying and power distribution equipment. Sabic Innovative Plastics, a chemical processing plant producing polycarbonate resins (Lexan), performed tasks as an Instrumentation Electrician on low, medium and high voltage systems, calibration of transmitters, 4 – 20ma process signals and Computerized Emission Management Systems. Oversee all equipment management aspects over large geographical region; Alabama, Georgia, SE Tennessee and Florida Panhandle. Operational diversity with aggregate quarries, asphalt plants, delivery truck fleet and construction/paving equipment. Principle activities to adjust fleet size, reduce operating costs and reorganize workforce structure to suit current economic conditions. Reorganized fleet and workforce requirements, realizing net gain in excess of $1.3M and cost avoidance of $536K annually. Direct report to CFO. Held primary and co-partner decision making authority for equipment fleet size, specification, acquisition and disposal of equipment assets. Directly responsible equipment operational costs, evaluations and annual appraisals. Develop equipment budgets in excess of $15M and capital expenditure budgets exceeding $4M annually.

Consolidate 3 diverse equipment management teams into one centralized region. Develop and install comprehensive equipment management programs, along with guidelines and policies to manage equipment maintenance operations. Manage all aspects of equipment fleet over 2,200+ pieces of equipment. Directly responsible for life cycle analysis, fleet sizing and utilization policies, equipment evaluations and annual appraisals. Assisted with the development of equipment maintenance policies and procedures. Formulated 1st time equipment department budget exceeding $18M, capital expenditures and lease budgets exceeding $10M.

Oversee all aspects of equipment fleet involving 2,500+ units, including 110+ pieces of heavy construction equipment, 280 vehicles, 11 Class 8 trucks with trailers and 4 fuel/lube trucks, managed workforce strategies, Direct report to President of Company and CFO. Held full decision-making authority for the specification, acquisition and disposal of equipment assets. Directly responsible for life cycle analysis, cost avoidance, equipment evaluations, annual appraisals, utilization schedules, lease/rental terms and depreciation schedules. Negotiate national supply chain contracts and incentives, establish equipment management policies and procedures. Formulate positive cash flow and plan / administer department budgets up to $8M, capital expenditures to $6M and capital lease budgets up to $4M.
