Having developed his human resources career with Procter & Gamble, Pepsico and Canadian Tire - Robert’s experience led him to Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) roles within High Technology (Descartes Systems), Financial Services (Symcor) and Healthcare (Alberta Health Services). He then pivoted to a consulting career joining Mercer at the Partner level focused on developing their healthcare practice. Then obtaining his ICD.D certification, Robert started his own practice as President of Robert Turner Consulting Inc., initially under the Western Management Consultants banner, consulting on Board Governance (ESG) and Human Resources / Compensation matters within all sectors of the Canadian economy (public, private and publicly traded). Currently with EQRAZ Inc. as Secretary to the Board of Directors providing Board meeting oversight and governance consulting – such consulting to include structuring the operating committees of the Board, reviewing corporate policy requirements and developing effective tools and processes to help the Company move forward. Robert obtained his ICD.D certification from the Institute of Corporate Directors (Rotman School of Business), his MBA from the Ivey Business School and his BSc (Biochemistry) from the University of Toronto.Robert gave/gives back to the community in which he resides by previously sitting on the Board of the Collingwood General and Marine Hospital – Chairing the Human Resources & Finance Committee and member of the Executive Committee. Robert currently sits as Secretary & Director Governance and Human Resources on the Board of the Toronto Ski Club, Secretary to the Board of 4Seasons Probus and as Director & Chair Strategic Planning Committee on Georgian Bay Forever (one of Canada's top 100 most respected charities).. Robert also serves the Town of the Blue Mountains through an order in Council on their Accountability and Transparency Committee.
