Reviewing the Group’s standards and procedures and providing an insight on the impact that non-compliance has on the group. Assisting the Head of Internal Audit to appraise the adequacy of the internal control systems to ensure financial and operational integrity by examining, verifying, evaluating and reporting on financial, operational and managerial processes, systems and outcomes.Duties • Performing Audit assignments within strict deadlines as allocated by the Audit Manager, including planning and scoping audits, facilitating meetings, agreeing reports with management, maintaining audit files and following up on recommendations made.• Investigation and reporting on specific instances of fraud and irregularity, to ensure financial probity and to safeguard the assets of the Authority.

Involved undertaking a variety of general accounting and capital accounting duties in order to help safeguard the integrity of financial information within the General Ledger.Duties • Assistance with bank reconciliation including handling of bank statements, entering transactions in the cash book, and preparing journals for entry into the General Ledger.• Providing support to the Treasury officer including assistance with management of daily cash flow, monitoring and recording of payments, VAT rate analysis and forecasting.• Monitoring of capital projects on a monthly basis.• Preparation of monthly management accounts - presenting results, budget variances and ad hoc analysis.• Assisting with the monitoring and clearance of various suspense and control accounts.
