With over six years of experience in customer service and public education, I am passionate about creating memorable and meaningful experiences for visitors to the U.S. Capitol. My core competencies include communication, interpersonal skills, and group leadership, which I leverage to deliver informative and educational tours about the history, architecture, and art of the Capitol. I am motivated by the mission of the Architect of the Capitol to serve Congress and the American people, and I bring diverse perspectives and experiences to the team at the Newseum and at the national zoo. In my current role as a visitor guide, I guide groups of various sizes, interests, and cultural backgrounds through the main rooms of the Capitol and interpret the artifacts, paintings, and statues that represent the nation's history and values. I engage in ongoing research of the Capitol to enhance the tour experience and respond to visitor interests. I also support the visitor assistants as needed, helping with wayfinding, security, and VIPs. In my previous role as a visitor assistant, I helped customers with online ticketing and entry requirements, and assisted with the re-opening of the building. I also provided shuttle service to areas of the campus. In both roles, I demonstrated my communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills, as well as my adaptability, enthusiasm, and professionalism.
