I worked at the Gourmet Haus Staudt (GHS), a German themed craft beer bar/restaurant from 2011 - 2019. This bar is located in Redwood City, CA (mid peninsula area of the San Francisco Bay Area). During the eight years I worked at the GHS, the business grew significantly as did my knowledge of the beer industry. The Germans have been brewing beer for almost a thousand years and California, notably the San Diego and Southern California areas, have been responsible for a huge influence on beer styles, IPAs, etc. Although the German beers tend to be fairly conservative, the Craft beer side at the Gourmet Haus Staudt always has 13 rotating beers. The bar always participated in the SF Beer Festival week and often we would have tap takeovers from many of the local great breweries. Breweries such as Modern Times, Moonraker, Alvarado, Fieldwork and more added to my depth of knowledge. Gourmet Haus Staudt is rated as 4.5 stars on Yelp and 4.7 on Beer Advocate. My duties included not only serving beer and food but also in keg rotation, beer selection, stocking and maintenance of the entire restaurant/bar
