My career in IT began in 1964 and over the years from then until late 2001 I held positions in inducstry with companies such as Shell International Chemicals, IBM, hudson's Bay Company (The Bay), SHL Systemhouse. In addition, for almost fifteen of those years, I worked as an independant undertaking a variety of assignments for NorthwesTel, Telus, The Brick as well as a few small business offices.I began my teaching career at Kwantlen Polytechnic University, in what is now the Melville School of Business in 2001 and until the present (April 2024), Instructing students in the third year of their BBA programs in Buisiness Analysis and Design as well as IT for Business. For six years I was one of two representatives for the School of Business on the University Senate, and for four of those years I was the chair the Senate Standing Committee on Academic Planning and Priorities.Aside from the teaching and administrative duties I was a volunteer coach for teams of students that would represent the University at International Case Competitions in Canada and abroad. The highlights of the time with those teams was winning the Singapore Management Univeristy once and the Case-IT competition at Simon Fraser University in Vancouver, twice.At this point in time I am retired from full time activity at teh University and enjoying more time spent with my dog as well as working with my wood working tools, including my prize posession in thata area, my lathe. I am interested in part time business related tasks wwhich may come along, particularly in hte way of editing docuemntation, an activity that will suit me working from home.Thank you for reading my profile.
