I have been involved in the construction industry for over 30 years both as a direct employee of a number of large companies and as Managing Director of my own construction company. My experience expands over a wide range of construction activities including ,Civil Engineering works, Housing, Retail, Commercial, Agriculture, Pharmaceutical, Hotels, Schools, leisure and outdoor facilities, environmental and waste management facilities. Many of these projects were procured in the Traditional manner; others were Design and Build, ECI, PPP, PPP with open Book Policy. Some of these projects were undertaking using Partnering and Joint Ventures, but generally most were tendered and constructed in the traditional way as lump sum fixed price contracts with a single main contractor. I have worked in a number of countries throughout my career and have gained significant experience in Design, Procurement, Tendering, Managing and handing over completed projects on time and within Budget. Having worked in almost every position within the construction team from Site Engineer to Project manager, Construction manager, Commercial manager and Project Director I am fully aware of all the pit falls, risks and opportunities, but above all I know the importance of establishing a good team from Project Director right through to the cleaners preparing to handing over the finished product.
