My PhD research focuses on biodiversity monitoring, developing and implementing genetic indicators of biodiversity. My goal is to contribute to advancing biodiversity research by creating robust genetic indicators for effective monitoring and conservation efforts-Development and implementation of genetic biodiversity indicators across European forest types (pine, beech, fir).-Assessment of biodiversity at genetic, species, and ecosystem levels.-Creation of a comprehensive index by correlating genetic indicators, forest structure metrics, and soil microorganism indicators.-Extension of research to include agroforestry systems for a broader scope of biodiversity assessment.-Utilization of diverse methodologies to develop robust indicators for biodiversity monitoring and conservation efforts.

Research project: Varietal identification for Mediterranean agrosystems for sustainability and resilience to climate changeThe research is funded by the EU project: PRIMA MA4SURE- Mediterranean agrosystem for sustainability and resilience under climate change project. Activities:-Characterized and identified sustainable, profitable, resilient, and adaptive agroforestry/agropastoral systems across Mediterranean pedo-climatic conditions.-Living Labs in Italy, Spain, and Egypt to study sustainable agroforestry systems.-Conducted fieldwork and sampling, including soil sampling before and after planting, to analyze microbial interactions and soil development.Results:-Analysis of microbial interactions and spatial distribution in agroforestry systems.-Laboratory analysis at the Institute of Bioeconomy and Biosciences (IBBR)

I worked as an intern for CNR- Institute for Sustainable Plant Protection (IPSP) focusing on laboratory analysis on fungi characterization.Activities:-DNA extraction , PCR amplification, and analysis of resulting data.-Supervising sample purification techniques and cell manipulation methods.-Executing transplantations and cell cultures for studying biological processes.-Using the optical microscope for observing and analyzing cellular structures and fungal phenotypes.
