As Head of Communications and a member of the Jasmax Executive Leadership Team, I am now leading communications and public relations at Jasmax. I am proud to be a future-focused and inclusive leader, as well as a champion of brand intelligence, creativity and design excellence. My work history at Jasmax includes leading the significant reshaping of the Jasmax brand identity in 2019, a highlight being development of the Jasmax Manifesto, a foundational document guiding the practice’s bi-cultural vision and identity for the future. The Manifesto has provided Jasmax with a foundation for positive change, it underpins the way we work, including values, culture and aspirations. Following this pivotal experience, I completed a mini-MBA in Brand Management in 2022 with marketing guru Mark Ritson, and also pursued my passion for timber buildings, leading a study tour to North America in 2023.I have been employed at Jasmax since 2014 and was promoted to Associate Principal in 2018. My broad-ranging career has spanned leadership and managerial roles in architecture; architectural design, specialist briefing, communications, architectural writing, business development and tertiary education.An architect by training, I have also been privileged to have been part of award-winning project teams at Jasmax. Prior to my current position, I co-led the Jasmax Health team, and spent four years working in the tertiary education sector where I led architectural briefing for projects including AUT’s Ngā Wai Hono building for the School of Engineering, Computing and Mathematical Sciences, completed in 2018. Prior to joining Jasmax, I was employed as a professional teaching fellow at the School of Architecture in the National Institute of Creative Arts and Industries (NICAI) at the University of Auckland for 10+ years. I concurrently was Director of Bertie, a design and communications business. After winning the Levene's Travel Award for Best Student Design in 1995, I spent four years in London working as a graduate architect for TP Bennett Architects and passed my Professional Registration exam at Southbank University in London with Distinction.Outside of work, I have a keen interest in fitness, practising Hot Yoga, Pilates, and weight training. I am a keen creative writer, love drawing, baking, reading and travel. I also love to sew, and feel very fortunate to have been able to use the Auckland lockdowns to dust off creative pursuits.

  As Head of Communications, I lead a team of architectural communications, creatives and PR specialists to manage the Jasmax brand identity, whilst also working within the Leadership Team to support business strategy and market positioning. This role encompasses international research; thought leadership and PR campaigns; government and media relations; curating the website and social media, and managing strategic partnerships, events, sponsorship and awards programmes. I also work closely with senior leaders to support strategic business development communications. A critical part of my role is to ensure that Jasmax is recognised as a leader in sustainable design. I am especially excited by our recent expansion into Australia, and the opportunity this represents to grow our reputation for low carbon design in Australasia and beyond. As the influence of legislative requirements and ESG-driven investment is beginning to make waves within the construction and asset sectors, new technologies and innovative design systems are emerging which can help deliver a sustainable, resilient future. I am excited to be playing a part in the transition to a low carbon future.
