I have finished my Associates Degree from St. Philip's and just patiently waiting for graduation in Dec. 2023. I am officially a Junior at UTSA where I am pursuing my Bachelor's in English with an emphasis on TESL. I am looking forward to graduating in 2027. This journey has had its ups and downs but what it has taught me is I have the problem solving skills to handle the challenges that come my way and immerge victorious, stronger and more confident of and in my abilities. I have had the priviledge of being inducted into two honor societies: National Society of Leadership and Success and Phi Theta Kappa. I have even received recruitment from Columbia GE, School of General Studies. While I am proud of these accomplishments the thing I am most keenly aware of is that I did not get here without the help of my family and my professors. To whom I am eternally grateful for their kindness, time, and generosity but above all, their belief in my ability to persevere, to get the job done. My goal has remained the same, to become an English as a Second Language Teacher and to live and work in either South Korea or Taiwan. While I am still working to achieve the academic credentials, the one thing I already have in my possession is - the experience. Not in an official school class room - yet. However, I have raised 4 children. This taught me to pay attention to each as an individual, that each had their own learning style and that age is no indicator of wisdom. During their formative years I was asked to teach Children's Fellowship, this was in 1991. I honed the ability to put together short lessons that included crafts, and songs that went with the lessons. As my children grew so did the age of the children I was responsible to teach. I continued to teach Sunday school until August 2016. I moved to San Antonio in the latter quarter of the same year.
