System architect and lead software engineer for a third party player data armory web application for a massive multiplayer online role playing game. The site uses PHP to pull data from a MongoDB using JSON and caches the data locally in a MySQL database for increased performance. It uses the CodeIgniter Framework with ION_Auth for account management. It presents character data in ways that are not possible from within the game itself and has become a valuable tool for players to use in managing their characters. I've been on a panel at two of the company's annual player conferences to give a presentation on the features of the site. It also allows signature generation of player signatures showing their character's data which can be used in forums that automatically update as their character data changes. From 2012 to 2015, this was used to serve over 65 million signatures.

Planned and implemented numerous technology changes, database upgrades and server upgrades. I've programmed tools to support moving millions of records from one system to another, either through text files or direct database to database transfers, coded software used on barcode readers for inventory, and interpreted various cryptic proprietary file formats and database structures for importing data from external systems. Configured windows servers, IIS, database backups and maintenance tasks, scheduled data imports, and came up with integration database design to pull data from numerous external sources. I've been the technical lead responsible for every aspect of upgrading and keeping the system up and running since its inception.This product began as an ASP web application using COM objects loaded in Microsoft Transaction Server for database interaction with Microsoft SQL Server 6.5 while using Visual Source Safe for version control. Since then, I've planned and implemented the transition to .Net starting with version 1.0 and upgraded several times up through .Net 4.0. I've also planned and implemented the transition from Visual Source Safe to Team Foundation Server, from SQL Server 6.5 to 7.0 to 2000 to 2005 to 2008 to 2008 R2, and from Windows NT 4.0 Server to Windows 2000 Server to Windows Server 2003 to Windows Server 2008 to Windows Server 2008 R2.
