I take customer requirements and turn them into working products. I have 34 years’ experience as an IT professional, from system architect, software engineer, system administration, hardware technician, and database administration. As a programmer, I've coded in more languages than I can remember. Knowing how to code the logic properly is the important part. The chosen language is just about syntax.I was the system architect, technical lead, and lead software engineer on a worldwide web based asset management product from 1999-2015. During that time, I planned and implemented numerous technology changes, database upgrades and server upgrades. I programmed tools to support moving millions of records from one system to another, either through text files or direct database to database transfers, coded software used on barcode readers for inventory, and interpreted various cryptic proprietary file formats and database structures for importing data from external systems. I've been the technical lead responsible for every aspect of upgrading and keeping the system up and running since its inception.I've been the system architect and lead software engineer for a third party player data armory web application for a massive multiplayer online role playing game which has by far surpassed the game company's own site for displaying the same data. I've worked closely with the game company's developers to assist with designing the structure to support the type of queries needed to show what the players want to see.Prior to that, I've been the webmaster for large organizations, a client server programmer working with PowerBuilder on Windows and Unix clients using Microsoft SQL Server and Sybase Database Server, a Clipper programmer, a Novell, Windows, and Unix system administrator, a hardware technician, and a computer operator. I also spent four years in the US Army as a 74D, Computer Systems Operator.
