I joined Fortis in August 2015 as President. My primary focus has been advancing the agency through organic growth and acquisitions. Fortis has tripled in size under my leadership.Prior to Fortis, I served in leadership roles at several companies in the DFW area, notably at Gus Bates Insurance and Investments, CFO; American Hallmark Insurance Services, president; and William Rigg Co., senior vice president, and producer. With Fortis, I saw an opportunity to take a small and struggling insurance agency and transform it into a new and dynamic agency that is 100% committed to providing best in class customer experience through professional insurance expertise, technological innovation, and hard work.I have a BA in Business Administration from Baylor and a Master’s from Vanderbilt. I also have the CPCU (Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter) and the ARe (Associate in Reinsurance) designations. I am passionate student of P&C insurance and have been able to amass a deep and wide amount of experience in insurance agency and insurance carrier leadership and management. Skills include but are not limited to revenue generation, marketing, strategic planning, operations, reinsurance, claims, change management, team development, underwriting, process integration, risk management, P&L statements, problem solving, forecasting, agency/carrier relationships, and captives.In my personal life, I like spending time with my wife and two daughters, skiing and fly fishing in the mountains, working outdoors, watching sports (especially the Baylor Bears) and learning new things.
