Hello my name is Robert Castillo and I am an explorer both for new changes and new opportunities. I love just packing my backpack and walking out my front door and exploring something new everyday throughout my hometown of San Antonio. I believe that exploration is the key to our future as a society and that growth is the gateway to this new future. I am someone who many have called a guide as I have helped numerous people in my many explorations of both my city and my life. I enjoy helping and collaborating with others so that we can grow together and enjoy a better future.I love understanding others emotions and I personally believe that my empathy is one of my core strengths. I have even sat down with strangers in my city and talked them through difficulties they were having and offered them helpful solutions. For example, I remember talking to this single mother who could barely make ends meet with her two children, so I suggested to her that she should apply for food stamps to help cover food costs and seek out better workplace opportunities because she was clearly an intelligent woman. I enjoy seeing people leave happy after I have helped them because it reminds me that happiness can come even in the toughest of times.I am a person who works my hardest at every opportunity because I grew up with the ideology that hard work pays off. I watched my dad break his back everyday when I was little and he still came home with a smile on his face and hope in his eyes. He inspired me to do the same and continue to work hard for both my sake and the sake of others as I want others to enjoy the spoils of my hard work with me. I am also a zoophilist which means that I enjoy spending time with and taking care of animals as animals deserve to be treated with the same rights and dignities as humans. I find animals to be fascinating, particularly the relationship some have with humans and the cognitive functions they display in some situations is just extraordinary.
