With the formation of the new MassDOT, which brought all the various Massachusetts State transportation agencies together under one organization, a new Office of Real Estate and Asset Development was formed. This new group is charged with generating revenue for MassDOT - which is retained by MassDOT and not returned to the General Fund like all other Executive Branches of State Government. As a profit center for the MassDOT, this unit is involved in dozens of different real estate transactions all throughout Massachusetts. These deals involve leasing, sponsorships, partnering, as well as fee simple sales. This real estate unit is not part of the various divisions within MassDOT, rather we report directly to the Secretary on the work we are doing, which makes the process of moving our transactions much quicker.

I serve as the Deputy Commissioner for Administration. MassHighway has almost 2000 employees and has a total budget of almost $1 billion annually. Most of my responsibilties involve dealing with finance and budget issues. I work directley with the Commissioner on many other issues that involve the administrative operations of this very large organization.

I managed a 12 person unit that was responsible for managing all of the real estate needs for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
