I was the guy who got the jump balls – the projects that had lots of moving parts and involved multiple technologies into a solution. A good example is Red Cell which was a competition with close to 100 entries and my solution won out. After I read the problem description, I had the major pieces put together in a few minutes. It took two years to make it happen for real.RED CELL – Cellular Emergency Alert System – Project Manager and Lead architect for two year Institute of Department of Homeland Security (IDHS) project to develop a CBRNE (chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear explosive) sensor alert network over AT&T’s cellular infrastructure. The effort included leading technologies in the fields of remote detection, communications, and notification systems working with Oak Ridge National Lab, AT&T, Amcom Software, LineSider Technologies (later acquired by Cisco as their core cloud technology), OSI Software, and the Virginia Army National Guard based at Ft. Pickett. AFRICOM Djibouti Africa - DIACAP certification of mission planning and operations custom built software package. This allowed me to spend 2.5 months at lovely Camp Lemonnier with a daily wake up call provided by the French Airforce taking off from the runway about 100 yards from my CLU. US Navy Advanced Metering Infrastructure – Bid, design and implementation of 802.11 WiFi wireless network supporting 3000 meters across 10 Navy bases in the Southwest US to support electric, gas, water, and steam utilization in a smart grid. Government Business Development – Business Development lead for ALLIANT and a SBA mentor protégé joint venture. Participated in numerous bid efforts for US Navy, Marine Corp, US Army, DARPA, DoJ, DOT, DHS, DoI, State Department, and CIA.
