Alongside my university studies, I worked within the Consumer Electronics department of John Lewis & Partners, Edinburgh. This role required extensive product knowledge as I routinely demonstrated new technology to customers. I provided excellent customer service and built long-lasting relationships with customers. My communication skills aided me in understanding customers’ home technology needs and finding the best solution. Furthermore, I liaised with brand representatives to further my product knowledge and increase sales. In addition, I trained new team members in using stock management and sales systems.

I was a member of the University of Edinburgh SolidariTee Team. SolidariTee is a student led charity which works alongside and gives aid to grassroots NGOs and to provide legal expertise and psychological support to asylum seekers and refugees. This was a voluntary position which was extremely beneficial in furthering my knowledge and understanding of the refugee crisis. Within this role, I have aided in organising events and selling SolidariTee t-shirts to raise funds.
