Responsible for the operational management of a Fraud, Waste, Abuse and Mismanagement Hotline. Directs the Hotline staff in the initiation and management of Hotline inquiries which evaluate sensitive, complex allegations potentially affecting the efficiency of the Department. Ensures complaints are referred to appropriate Inspectors Generals or investigative agencies for inquiry or investigation. Oversees the review of completed investigations to assure independence and thoroughness and that complaints are efficiently and effectively investigated and reported. Confirms appropriate actions are taken as a result of any inquiries. Ensures the appropriate protection of the identity of sources requesting anonymity or confidentiality. Facilitates outreach programs by addressing audiences at Inspector General courses and conferences. Supervised a Lean Six Sigma project which evaluated the Hotline operational program. Conceptualized a strategic outreach vision for the advertisement of the Hotline program targeted towards customers utilizing classified media. Liaises with internal and external Hotline customers. Briefs senior agency leadership of significant developments in emerging issues and time sensitive matters. Supervises and evaluates managers and other direct report employees. Reviews and provides input to Hotline standard operating procedures and draft regulations. Drafts the annual Statement of Assurance, documenting the findings from internal control assessments. Knowledgeable of investigative techniques and procedures, DoD organizational concepts and structures, missions and objectives, regulations, policies and procedures.
