About Robert Lewis

As a Senior Partner at McKinsey & Company, I lead large-scale performance improvement and operational excellence programs for industrial and basic materials companies, and advise private equity clients acquiring companies and leading turnarounds. My primary leadership role at McKinsey is as the global convener of our Implementation Practice, the Firm’s practice focused on helping clients deliver substantial, sustainable impact. When approaching my work, I take a broad view of the interplay between strategy, operations, and capital planning, but spend extra time and focus on making sure that the conditions for long term success are in place for my clients -- these include an aligned leadership team, a set of integrated initiatives to deliver value, the operational infrastructure to ensure disciplined execution, and a program to systematically build the leadership and functional skills of a company.Before joining McKinsey, I worked as an engineer in Procter and Gamble’s manufacturing organization. Outside of work, I have 2 children and serve on the board of the Colburn School of Music in Los Angeles.
