During my tenure, we trained over 500 young people in fundraising, message development, media relations, voter contact, targeting, direct mail, research, and paid media. I managed 73 staffers placed on campaigns nationwide and received a “Pollie Award” from the American Association of Political Consultants for new digital tools to engage young people in the political process.

Crafted campaign messaging from polling, the candidate’s record, and opposition research for an endangered incumbent member of the Virginia House of Delegates. Represented the campaign on-the-record and prepared the candidate for press interviews, public events, and debates.

Served on my first political campaign as a door-to-door canvasser and phone banker in San Antonio for Judge Charlie Gonzalez in his successful special election for the U.S. Congress in 1998.
