About Robert Gibb
Robert is passionate about the environment and is dedicated to addressing the climate, ecosystem and societal crises we face.Robert has recently retired after a 35 year career as a GI researcher and innovator on the staff of Manaaki Whenua and its predecessors, culminating in leading the Informatics Team. He is now a Research Associate in Informatics focusing on OGC & ISO standards in geospatial big data and analytics. He was a co-founder and co-chair of the OGC Standards Working Group on Discrete Global Grid Systems, which published the OGC Abstract Standard Topic 21 – Discrete Global Grid Systems in August 2017 and now he leads the group bringing the standard into ISO TC 211 as ISO 19170.

It was then taken to ISO TC211 for co-publication there. Very significant advances.
