I have been a Cardiologist for over 30 years, dedicated to clinical care, resident and student education, clinical research, and healthcare administration. I was Director of Cardiology at The Jamaica Hospital Medical Center for 26 years, during which time I oversaw the growth of our Department in patient volume and procedures performed. I concentrated on quality improvement, working to improve patient satisfaction and patient safety. In July 2018 I became Chair of the Department of Medicine at The Jamaica Hospital Medical Center, applying these principles to patient care throughout the Department of Medicine. Having participated in medical student and resident education throughout my professional life, I now supervise the education of residents and medical students within our Department along with our residency and medical student program directors. I concentrated on project management as Co-Chair of the hospital’s EMR implementation in 2010 and formalized this experience by obtaining board certification in Clinical Informatics in 2013. To better hone my administrative skills, I obtained my MBA and an MS in healthcare leadership by completing an executive MBA/MS program at Cornell University in 2019.
