The South San Francisco Public Library is part of the Peninsula Library System (PLS). PLS is a consortium of 34 public and community college libraries in San Mateo County. The library offers many programs and resources for children, teens and adults. The population of South San Francisco is over 63,000 and is one of the most diverse cities in the San Francisco Bay Area.Duties:• Oversee public-use technology areas and assist patrons with computers, printers, photocopiers, scanners, and makerspace equipment (3-D printers, engravers, etc.) as well as with their own devices during tech drop-in visits. • Provide information about library services and resources, answer questions, explain policies, and resolve disputes. • Create and host programming for adults, teens, and children including storytimes and digital literacy workshops; host school visits and other outreach activities at library and in the community. • Maintain patron records, open new accounts, and collect fines and donations; check in/out and shelve library materials according to Dewey Decimal Classification.• Physically process print and non-print materials including applying appropriate labels, security tags, book covers, and bar codes; perform minor book repair.
