Profile bio

About Robert Hewitt

After graduating from Ohio State, I found work at a Brazilian ad agency, living in São Paulo for nearly two years. Returning to Cleveland, I joined the Creative Studio at American Greetings, handling various graphic design projects. In my spare time, I organized an LLC (a literary social network) and operated as its Managing Member for nearly three years. Then it was off to New York, where I was the Lead Designer with Takkle until I accepted the position of Senior Lead Designer with Rave Mobile Safety. After two and a half years, I was promoted to Creative Director. As the marketing department contracted, I added Digital Presence and Marketing Operations to my Asset Development duties.A year and a half later, following the successful launch of the Smart911 brand, I left Rave to start my own creative services network, Brooklyn Bullpen. The NYC freelance scene led me to a stint with GameChanger, briefly leading their marketing efforts before pursuing my long-time vision for Social Strategy Games. In 2011, I co-founded a game studio, HashGo, serving as CEO and lead designer. The company raised seven figures of VC financing and opened an office in San Francisco. Over the course of two years of non-stop work and joyful effort, my team and I developed 10 original titles. Facing strong industry headwinds, the company wound down at the end of 2013.That closed door quickly became an open window. In February 2014, the literal brick-and-mortar doors of Brooklyn Game Lab opened! A new, solo business venture that combined my love of game design, the joy of teaching, and my desire to create something positive, impactful, and hyper-local. BGL grew to six locations from Park Slope to DUMBO to Tribeca - and after ten years and thousands of kids, it’s still operating today. In 2022, our family relocated to New Zealand and I shifted my focus back to the tech startup world. I discovered the amazingly disruptive project Eolus.ai and jumped in headfirst, helping to guide the company through the early startup phase. After two years as COO and CSO, the platform is now taking the cost budgeting world by storm. Watch this space, folks!

Listed skills include Game Design, Social Media, Web Design, Marketing Strategy, and 17 others.
