I strive for opportunities to make the healthcare system work better for people. There are many stakeholders in this system; the most important being the person served. I feel I bring a unique mix of experience and perspective to my approach coming from a military background, from there moving into a career in social work, and ultimately getting my master’s in business administration with a focus on health care. I am where I am because of the investment in time from mentors throughout my life. These people ranged from a youth paster who was a positive male role model when I was a teenager, to my Sergeants in the Army who taught me discipline and a healthy pride in myself, to my college professors who taught me to think critically about the world around me, to the various supervisors I have had in my professional career where I learned to develop my personal leadership style. Within the next year I would like to develop a program or innovation that either brings value to the people my company serves or brings innovation to the company I serve and the people I serve with. It would be amazing if I could accomplish both objectives with one program. I will likely need to bring in multiple key individuals within the company to brainstorm solutions. Nothing happens within a vacuum, at least in business.
