Responsible for the design and resource management of a biometric enabled display Smartcard. Primary objective was to design a low cost ISO form-factor card integrating secure authentication using fingerprints for payment, identification and physical/logical access markets.Successfully redesigned existing ARM7 platform to use new fingerprint sensors and Smartcard security IC. Designed new ARM Cortex-M0 based ASIC platform to reduce cost and increase system performance. Developed and managed limited personnel and budget allocations to minimize resource expenditures while continuing to meet project goals and objectives. Authored internal and external documentation including detailed electrical design, CAD files, specifications and statements of work. Represented technical aspects of the company during vendor and partner negotiations.

Responsible for the redesign of previous generation of package tracking device to improve design performance and component costs while minimizing software, product and manufacturing changes and complexity. Redesigned existing ARM Cortex-M3 platform to include more integrated sub-systems; such as Power Management IC, environmental sensors, WiFi/Bluetooth and GPS modules and support for future expandability in order to reduce BOM cost. Worked closely with Firmware, Software and Manufacturing teams to minimize changes. Created design and PLC documentation while collaborating with internal and external teams to successfully transition product into manufacturing. Led design and functional testing of individual sub-systems, platform and final design through numerous electrical, environmental and safety standards.

Responsible for the design and development of a next generation hardware platform for use in a gunshot detection sensor capable of detecting impulsive sounds and providing real time audio analysis. Led design of an ARM Cortex-A8 platform for processing over 1000 512-point FFTs/s, leading to an increase of over 50% from previous platform. Architect complete ARM platform including an advanced ADC with multiple input channels, Serial, USB and Ethernet connectivity, sizeable memory requirements and a wide power input range. Contributed to the development of Electret Condenser and MEMS based microphone boards which reduced system costs by approximately 25%. Worked closely with Operations and Contract Manufacturers through all stages of design, production and field application engineering.

Responsible for the development and system integration of a low cost, highly functional consumer smart phone. Provided detailed design of digital portions of the system and assisted with the integration of various functional blocks into the overall system. Led and assisted team with analysis and tradeoffs of various design aspects; including software/hardware interaction, power consumption, mechanical objectives and industrial/product design intent as they related to overall technical and functional objectives. Represented electrical and system functional areas to develop overall product requirements and design documentation. Managed schematic and PCB development by both internal and external resources.

Responsible for the research, design and development of high volume, low cost high-tech infant and toddler toys. Successfully transitioned over 20 products to Far East contract manufacturing. Represented electrical engineering throughout the entire product life cycle process. Drafted numerous design and CAD documents both personally and in collaboration with external resources.

Assisted in the design and development of a Bluetooth Access Point for the Enterprise market. Responsible for the integration of the digital base band portions of the design as well as the building and testing of prototypes. Worked with on-shore contract manufacturing to transition product into manufacturing including; test development, purchasing/vendor negotiations and production line bring-up.

Began by working with the senior engineering teams to evaluate, build, test and document new digital and RF designs. Transitioned quickly into the digital design lead for a LAN-to-Endpoint transceiver conversion project. Assisted in the transfer of new design to manufacturing using an extensive PLC framework and highly integrated ERP/MRP system.
