Due to economic reasons, Swift Drilling BV was unfortunately not able to continue operations. Swift Drilling BV drills, explores and produces wellsfor operators in the southern part of the North Sea, last 5 years under contract of Shell. Swift Drilling BV strives to have the best performance in safety and efficiency, this can only be achieved with a highly motivated and professional crew. In five and half years Swift Drilling BV showed an excellent safety record with zero LTI’s (lost time injuries).I am proud that I was part of that team who worked safe and efficient. I am confident to say that I had a fine contribution to this process and that my way of working plus the interaction with personnel was well appreciated.In the period as Safety Officer I was responsible for the planning, organizing, supervision and execution of all safety related items and to train, motivate and instruct (new) crewmembers and/or service company’s visitors. As a Roustabout I was responsible for maintenance on deck and loading + discharging of cargo and bulk. Also assisting the mechanic in the engine room for preventive maintenance.

The quality of live and the right support for people who cannot take fully care of themselves are the keys for this organization. To be in close contact with people who need support and to help them to develop themselves, was satisfying work and formed me as a human being personally. Supporting the clients during their work in a day care centre and making customer support plans, were my main responsibilities at that time.

I was sailing on three captain owner’s vessels, working safe and environmentally friendly. Working hard, long days and sailing around Europe and Africa was satisfactory to do also to work with a nice crew and as a team. Coming home safe was the most important part, besides the guarantee of just-in-time deliveries for every cargo or freight. This period i was responsible for all deckrelated operations and equipment + preventive maintenance in the engine room.
