The Swift 10 is a new light jack-up drilling rig concept that matches the shallow water conditions in the Southern North Sea and is suitable for drilling wells, work overs and well abandonments. Special focus is given to automated pipe handling and the easy handling of sub sea trees and well head protective structures. This has improved the safety on board by an enormous reduction in HSE exposures and in average about 40% less people on board. The average POB, including catering and operator personnel is around 50. The four legged barge is easy to move and pre-loading is done in a few hours. It can easily handle a 30 mtr air gap and due to the X/Y cantilever design the majority of the production platforms in the SNS can be served. The maximum water depth should be 40 mtr although 45 mtr might be possible. The Swift 10 has valid HSE Cases for as well the UKCS and the NLCS. The HSE case has been accepted by the UK OSDR (Offshore Safety Directive Regulator) as per 30 june 2016. Since the rig started its operations in May 2011, the safety record has been outstanding. The innovative design, the powerfull Corporate Management System and the pragmatic in house developed competency system has assisted in creating a safer working environment on board.
