Worked as a part-time assistant manager across many stores in the Albuquerque area while being a full-time graduate student. First in charge during shifts when the general manager is not present. Floating around many stores is a challenge I am customed to from working for many different franchises across the country. Store AWUS $35,000.

I was one of the graduate research assistants for the Northern Illinois University (NIU) Center for Latino and Latin American Studies (CLLAS) while getting my performer’s certificate. Duties included holding office hours, managing the front desk, writing grants, organizing the center-sponsored alternative Spring Break, representing the center at booths at different university events, taking minutes for meetings, managing social media accounts, and advertising for center events. Some of my prouder moments were organizing and giving tours sponsored by the NIU CLLAS and the NIU Center for Black Studies to underprivileged youths from Chicago, organizing live music with Banda NIU, Mariachi NIU, and/or NIU Steelband for events, and putting together a video recital for the centers’ annual Trienta y Tres conference.

I was on staff for the NIU Recording Services under the supervision of Dan Nichols (Aphorism Studios, Chicago, IL). Duties included:o Setting up, placing, and tearing down microphones.o Testing microphone levels.o Live streaming (audio + video).o Postproduction editing (audio +video) (proficient on DaVinci Resolve).o Exporting audio and video files for student/faculty access.

Worked as a seasonal Assistant Manager during school breaks and vacations. Second in charge during shifts. Executed bagging and tagging, DCD orders, and front counter. Trained new CSRs and drivers on phones and hospitality. Cross-trained team members on makeline using portion charts and scales. Store AWUS $25,000.

I was responsible for onboarding all new hires food preparation, hospitality, maintenance, COVID hourly tasks, phones, opening and closing shifts, and DCD orders. Store AWUS $50,000.

For the summers of 2018 and 2019, I worked as a teacher’s assistant to help run the NIU Percussion Camp go as smoothly as possible. The job included moving gear, teaching the students their parts in a group/private setting, making sure the faculty had everything they needed and even helping the students move in and out of their dorm room. A unique experience for me was when we had a camper whose first language is Mandarin Chinese and spoke little English, and I was the student’s guide for the duration of the experience.

I was a swim instructor for two summers after I graduated high school. I taught children from ages three to fourteen no matter what swim level each child was at.
