Delivering the Traineeship programme for Boston College. A Traineeship is a long-term work placement for 16 -24-year-olds, which also delivers maths, English, and employability skills. I am responsible for all elements of the programme. My responsibilities include• Finding employers to place learners with, building and maintaining relationships with them, and liaising with them for the duration of the work placement.• Conducting initial assessments for learners, providing information and guidance, and placing them with suitable employers.• Delivering lessons with learners to provide employment skills, maths, English, and other crucial life skills.• Completing all relevant administration of the programme, working with other College departments, employers, and Government agencies.• Being aware of safeguarding issues and intervening when necessary.• Assisting with the Adult Education Budget by providing initial interviews and referring clients onto suitable courses

• Talking to clients about their needs and finding ways of supporting them towards recovery, including collaboratively writing recovery plans, setting achievable goals, and using cognitive behavioural approaches to empower clients to overcome their barriers to recovery. • Supporting clients arrested for drug-related offences, as well as those released from prison. • Helping clients access services to help them with reading, writing, maths, computer and job-search skills• Working with specialist nurses and doctors in an addiction clinic, where they may prescribe medication, and supervise detox programmes. Providing accurate information to help them make informed decisions. • Advocating for clients to help them use housing, employment and healthcare services• Assisting in the needle exchange, providing clean sharps and giving advice on how to use substances safely and reduce harm to self and society.• Attending multi-agency child safety meetings, providing accurate information, and ensuring information is passed to the correct people to help safeguard children. • Writing detailed risk assessments to assist with risk management of the client, and of their families/children.
