After being promoted into my current position of Senior Director of Finance, I now supervise 5 finance professionals, while directing the day-to-day coordination and control of financial accounting functions. I oversee all A/P and A/R functions in addition to overseeing field audits conducted by the finance team and have full responsibility for accounting, analysis, and forecast of $30M in research expenses, the largest mission expense and most complex on the P&L.I provide accounting, analysis, and forecast of professional fee expenses, the largest operating expense outside of compensation, prepare monthly cash tracking analysis and forecast for senior management, as well as monthly financial statements and supporting schedules for senior leadership and Board of Trustees. In this role, I was responsible for the U.S. commercial pharmaceutical ledger, U.S. sales & use tax liability account, dentistry ledger, and accounting of U.S. intangible assets. I reviewed and approved all journal entries under $3M and reconciled monthly Balance Sheet accounts in BlackLine, performed monthly accounting reviews, wrote accounting memos and contract summaries as requested by leadership, and presented material variations to senior management.I also provided support to large FP&A team, reviewed and approved journal entries prepared by FP&A under $3M, implemented process improvements by creating VBA macros in Excel files, and ensured that all U.S. intangibles were aligned with the master file maintained by the Consolidations team.Additionally, I held monthly meetings with third party tax consultants to ensure GL account was aligned with the tax returns (approx. $1M liability per month), managed the full trial balance of the dentistry business, performed quarterly revenue recognition testing, and supported audit requests from PwC.
