After serving as an officer in the U.S. Air Force, I attended the University of Washington School of Law and joined Garvey Schubert Barer in 1977. During my 35+ years with our firm I have had the opportunity to act as lead counsel on a wide variety of significant business transactions, including domestic and international mergers and acquisitions, IPO's and private debt and equity offerings. I have acted as general outside counsel to several publicly-traded companies and in this capacity I have advised their officers and directors on complex corporate and securities law matters, including proxy contests, internal investigations, activist shareholder activities, mergers and tender offers. I also have extensive experience in international business transactions and assisted several Chinese businesses in establishing their U.S. operations. I serve as the lead attorney in connection with our firm's role as general outside legal counsel to Saltchuk Resources, Inc., which is the largest privately-held company in the State of Washington.
