I'm passionate about finding efficiency - especially in healthcare! It's tough because, let's face it, US healthcare is broken, but I'm all about the challenge. I love working on emerging products that are set to transform their space in the healthcare marketplace.I think that good product managers take the lessons they've learned from past experiences when looking towards the future for the products they're leading. I'm fortunate to have a diverse background that includes support and implementation services, management consulting for big and small firms as well as independently, and product management in multiple healthcare domains (including AI/ML applications in healthcare). Here's a few highlights:I successfully launch products:- I hear the voice of the customer but I also help them find the words when they're unsure.- I take big ideas and I size them down into manageable deliverables (in priority order of course!)- I know that successful products aren't just engineered, they're brought to fruition by engineering, QA, services, sales, support, and others all working together.// My last product launch was an AI empowered billing tool that led to 50% plus automation rates for billing out pathology cases.I align world class teams and enable results driven successes:- When I lead teams, we focus on winning by empowering the team rather than an individual.- My teams have been remote, scattered internationally, even collocated, but we always do what it takes to collaborate.- I expect leaders to sacrifice for their teams. I bear responsibility when things don't go right and I champion the team when they do.- I've helped build product organizations. Ask me more about this one!- Data is behind every decision I make. When I'm measuring success or finding an area to improve, I make sure there's data behind what we're doing and a metric to monitor progress.// On a recent team that I served, the lead engineer said to me at the end of a particularly grueling product launch: "Thomas, I really hated all this stuff you made us do. I was resistant, but I gave it a try and went along with it. I'll be d@#% if it didn't work. I never thought we'd get out *that product* when you said we would." I don't think I've ever been happier to have received such a "compliment".I'm always eager to meet new folks and hear their perspectives.
